Our impact: A beacon of hope in Mubende
In an impoverished farming village where The Rising Sun Ministries works, a heartbreaking cycle persisted: no one had ever completed high school. Children as young as 12 were forced to leave school to support their families. This brutal reality kept generations from reaching their potential.
When we established The Rising Sun Learning Center, we met Anna. At 16, she was incredibly bright, yet working three jobs to care for her grandmother. She had been out of school for four years but held a fierce desire to learn. We saw her potential and offered her a scholarship. Anna started her studies and never missed a day.
Three years later, with determination and our support, Anna became the first person in her village to graduate from high school. Today, Anna is pursuing a university degree to become a teacher. Her dream is to return to her village and teach at the very school that opened up her future. The light of hope has truly been passed on.
